It was 4th of July weekend and I got invited to one of the biggest parties of the year and I was ecstatic I was to bring one friend so I brought my best friend Joe, but we are only friends, sometimes I wish we were more, I mean I have known him since I was 5 I wouldn’t want to risk anything since we have an amazing friendship, he knows everything about me and if we were to date nothing would be the same anymore and I don’t want that.

(Joe came barging through my bedroom door)

Ronnie - You know, I could have been changing

Joe - Like I haven’t seen anything before, Veronica

Ronnie - Shut Up, Joseph, come on leave I’m going to change

Joe - I’ll close my eyes

Ronnie - no go hang with Robert, Its going to take a little bit

Joe - Fine, I’ll go

Ronnie - bye

(she pushed him out of the room, He walked into Roberts room)

Joe - Can I talk to you about something

Robert - yeah what’s up 

Joe - I think I’m in love with your sister

Robert - what, that’s crazy

Joe - I know, I have never felt this way before about anyone, I want to spend the rest of my life with her, I just don’t know if she feels the same way you know, I wouldn’t want to make anything awkward between us, you know

Robert - you should talk to her about it 

Joe - Yeah, I’ll talk with her tonight at the party

(Ronnie walked into the room)

Ronnie - Joe we need to leave it’s almost 7

(Joe turned around)

Joe - wow…

(he just starred at her)

Ronnie - Earth to Joe, we need to leave

Joe - oh right, lets go

(they walked out to his truck)

Joe - I have something for you

Ronnie - ooh a present for me

Joe - yes for you 

(he handed her a small box, she opened it)

Ronnie - what is this for

Joe - it’s a ring that symbolizes our 18 years together being friends

(he hesitated, she smiled then hugged him)

Ronnie - thanks Joe, this means a lot

Joe - no problem, thanks for taking me with you to this party

Ronnie - it’s what friends do

(he smiled they drove off to the party, they got there and talked with some friends)

Joe - hey, want a drink

Ronnie - no, I don’t drink Alcohol remember

Joe - that’s not what I meant haha, do you want water or something

Ronnie - just get me a sprite please

Joe - OK, I’ll be back

(Joe left to get some drinks, he walked back and handed her her drink)

Joe - so how did you get invited to this party

Ronnie - my friend got invited and she was aloud to bring someone,and that was me and then she told me to bring someone so I brought you.

Joe - aw thanks

Ronnie - yeah, you’re my best friend so I thought it would be nice to bring you 

Joe - and because all your other friends were invited by the person who is actually having the party

Ronnie - shut up

Joe - what, it’s true though 

Ronnie - come on, the fire works are about to start

(they went out back and sat on the porch swing)

Joe - where is everyone

Ronnie - probably down the hill watching up close

Joe - don’t you want to watch from up close

Ronnie - nah, I don’t want to get hurt, and it’s nice right here and it’s a perfect view

Joe - yeah

(they were silent for a bit, all you could hear was the music in the background)

Joe - Ronnie, can I talk to you about something

Ronnie - sure, you can talk to me about anything, what’s on your mind

Joe - right now a lot of things, but one thing imparticular

Ronnie - OK, what is it then

Joe - OK, so there’s this girl that I have been crushing on for like a year or 2 now and she’s the most amazing girl in the world and I have no idea what to do. I’m falling for her every second that I spend with her

Ronnie - who is she

(he smiled)

Joe - just someone close that I’ve known my whole life  

Ronnie - Oh my gosh, you’ve known someone longer than you’ve known me, how is that possible, we’ve been inseparable since birth 

Joe - Veronica would you shut up it’s you

(he stood up and looked at her)

Ronnie - what

(she paused)

Joe - Ronnie, it’s you, I’m in love with you, I’ve been in love with you ever since freshman year in high school, you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me and I really want to be with you but I don’t want to lose 18 years of being best friends and I understand if you don’t feel the same way

(she cut him off by kissing him, then broke the kiss a bit later)

Ronnie - I’m in love with you too, I was hoping for this day to come for a very long time but I never knew you’d feel the exact same for me as I did you.

(she looked into his eyes)

Joe - I know the feeling, so with all of this said and out in the open, will you be my girlfriend

Ronnie - yes, I would love to.

( for the rest of the night they sat on the swing holding hands and watching fireworks and enjoying each others company)

Authors Note: I know it’s cheesy ending but I’ve been working on this story for awhile and I really wanted to end it so here you go
